Alfred Hitchcock’s remake of Zorro? Jordan Peele’s take on The Truman Show? Taika Waititi’s Magnificent 7 as a Spy Movie? This week Scott and Andrew remake some movies with new directors and genres. Find out how we make the Truman Show into a horror film and Avatar into a JJ Abrams family film!
This week Andrew is all by himself (with the exception of a brief cameo from a childhood friend) and is playing Sad Childhood Remake! This is where Andrew takes a childhood movie and tells you what the sad adult remake would be, in the vein of Christopher Robin that was released this week and Hook from the 90s. What would Heavyweights, Recess, The Mighty Ducks, Little Giants, and SpaceCamp look like remade today? Find out with Andrew this week!
Scott is here to talk all about Skyscraper and if it is any good. Andrew is also there, but he is having quite the crisis over the movie and movies in general due to his experience in the theater. Come for the jokes, stay for the existential crises about how to “correctly” watch films!
The guys also play Remake once again, but this time putting the Rock in the starring role. How is Mamma Mia different with the Rock as a former wrestler? How is the Sound of Music different with the Rock as a former Navy SEAL? How could we possibly have the Rock star in Casablanca? Tune in to find out.
Andrew is going to be live tweeting the Mission: Impossible franchise in the lead up to Mission: Impossible: Fallout (I think that’s how it’s punctuated). Monday night will be MI:2 and Thursday night will be MI:3.
Remake is back, this time with a Superhero flavor! Iron Man in a Film Noir? Black Widow in the Revolutionary War? Aquaman in a Western? Yes, all these and more are discussed by Andrew and Christian this week as we get ready for Infinity War! How would Captain America be played by Oscar Isaac? Could the Hulk work as a spy film? Find out here this week! We also discuss a superhero movie for Spielberg, Deadpool 2’s new trailer, and discuss a Harry Potter reboot.
Hey everyone, due to an unforeseen circumstance, we were unable to record yesterday. So please enjoy this bonus episode from the end of Episode 24-Infinity War/Disney Remake episode. It was cut for time, but we are able to release it here. Joining Andrew, Cameron, and Corinne are Hannah Cook from Southampton Productions and Courtenay from Pop Culture Footnotes. If you haven’t listed to Episode 24 yet, it’s probably best to do so before listening to this episode as there are some references we make that may not make sense without the previous episode.
Thank you so much for listening, and we should be back to recording next week! Follow us below:

Scott and Andrew play original recipe Remake to celebrate a new year! Andrew makes and breaks some New Year’s resolutions in the span of one episode! Will Scott make it through the episode? Maybe so! Have a great party with us this week!
Wild speculation! Remake Games! Scottish Taylor Swift? You betcha. This week Andrew is joined by Cameron from Southampton Productions and Corinne from Soli Assist to discuss the Avengers: Infinity War trailer. What could happen? Will Hawkeye be ok (probably not)? Are any Avengers going to make it out alive?
Also, we play Remake with a Disney twist. What fairy/folk tales could get the Disney treatment with some current artists? Does LL Cool J still count as a current artist? We say yes. Let us know who you think had the best movie pitches!
Join Andrew on Twitter as he live tweets his rewatch of the Star Wars Saga! Monday night is Episode V: The Empire Strikes Three and Thursday night is Episode VI: Return of All Those Jedi, Even the Child Murderers I Guess.
